Anzac Report Writing
Intro
100th year anniversary for the men who went to World war 1. A century ago 1915 New Zealand and Australian soldiers went to participate in the war. Anzac originated for the remembrance of the soldiers who went to war from New Zealand and Australia. It stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corps.
The declaration of war
The declaration of war started at the beginning of 1915 after the assassination of an Austrian and Hungarian Prince the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife Sophie Duchess of Hohenberg after a gunshot by a gunman Gavrilo Philip who was in a small group of assassinators with six members of 5 Serbians and 1 Bosniak. Franz Ferdinand was the nephew of the Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary Franz Josef, Franz Josef is one that declared war over Great Britain and France. Anzac soldiers went over to the war to help our allies Great Britain and France.
The alliance
(Central powers)
The alliance (Central powers) is made up of 4 countries, Austria- Hungary, Germany, Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. Germany lost half of their population, 52% was lost in the World war 1, Austria - Hungary lost 35% of their population more than 3 quarters of their population was lost, the Ottoman Empire lost 10% of their population only 1 tenth of their population was gone and Bulgaria only lost 3% of their population.
Total Casualties
World war 1 held the most casualties in war history between the military and civilian casualties. It was over 37 million casualties in the World war 1, 16 million deaths, 20 million wounded it was 10 million personnel soldiers and 7 million civilians making it the most war that had millions of casualties.
